Cotton rag paper is the perfect example of handmade tree-free, upcycled and recycled paper. As a natural product, cotton is completely biodegradable. Cotton bits, usually the by-products of manufactured cotton cloth, are color sorted, chopped, and pulverized then mixed with water and laid out to dry. The process takes about three days.

The recycled sage paper envelope is the perfect earthy touch for this card, and the blank inside lets me write a truly personal message. The cotton rag paper feels surprisingly substantial in hand for such a small A1 size, which makes it feel like a keepsake.
